Newport World Resorts marks Lunar New Year with dining, gifting and live entertainment

From dim sum feasts and festive hampers to cultural performances and concerts, the integrated resort ushers in the Year of the Horse

Lunar New Year at Newport World Resorts unfolds through a full day of dining, cultural traditions and entertainment, positioning the property as a gathering place for both intimate meals and large-scale celebrations as the Year of the Horse begins.
Food anchors much of the celebration, reflecting the way Lunar New Year is commonly observed in the Philippines through shared meals and extended time around the table. Across the resort, restaurants roll out seasonal menus designed for group dining, alongside take-home offerings meant for gifting.
At Happy 8, the festivities begin with a Lunar New Year Dim Sum All-You-Can offering, featuring 34 handcrafted items served for lunch and dinner. The selection includes roasted pork belly, pan-fried Chinese gyoza with chili garlic sauce, and deep-fried shrimp and pork wontons. The offer, priced at P1,688 net per person and inclusive of a lo hei prosperity toss, is designed as a leisurely, shareable dining experience.

At Man Ho, the Michelin-recognized Cantonese restaurant of Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts, Lunar New Year traditions take shape through communal dishes and symbolic rituals. The lo hei prosperity toss is offered at P5,888 net for five persons or P8,888 net for 10. Seasonal highlights also include the Prosperity Dimsum Set at P2,188 net for a basket of 12, Poon Choi at P25,888 net for five persons, and a range of tikoy varieties, from koi fish-shaped cakes to gold ingot and “good fortune” designs. These offerings are available from Jan. 26 to Feb. 26.

Festive gifting is emphasized at Hua Yuan Brasserie Chinoise, the Shanghainese restaurant of Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts, where Lunar New Year is marked with Prosperity Gallop, available until Feb. 28. A series of hampers underscores themes of abundance and longevity, including the Imperial Prosperity Hamper at P25,888 net, which features premium pastries, confectionery and a bottle of The Dalmore 12-Year-Old. A lighter Abundance Hamper is offered at P8,888 net.
Japanese dining venues at Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts also take part in the season. At Yamazato, the Michelin-selected fine-dining restaurant, Lunar New Year is observed through a Lunar Bento set highlighting seasonality and balance. Priced at P3,000++ per person, the set is available during lunch service until Feb. 17. Meanwhile, Yawaragi presents a Lunar New Year Kisetsu Buffet on Feb. 17 for both lunch and dinner, priced at P1,800++ per person. The restaurant’s pastry boutique also offers Lunar New Year-themed pastries and confections from Feb. 16 to March 3, with prices starting at P250++.

Beyond dining, traditional lion and dragon dances, lantern displays and other cultural elements are staged across the property on select dates, weaving ritual and movement into public spaces as part of the seasonal observance.
Entertainment rounds out the celebration, with a Valentine’s concert, Champions of the Heart, set for Feb. 14 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom. The concert features Martin Nievera, Sofronio Vasquez, Jed Madela, Jona and Klarisse de Guzman, with ticket prices ranging from P3,800 to P13,500.
The theater calendar continues with Bagets The Musical, a stage adaptation of the 1984 Filipino film, running until March at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Ticket prices range from P1,000 to P4,000.
Together, the dining programs, cultural traditions and live performances shape Lunar New Year at Newport World Resorts as a day-long celebration built around food, gathering and shared experiences.
