Aboitiz Power Corp. is expanding the payment options available on its MobileAP platform through a partnership with consumer finance app BillEase, allowing customers across five major utility franchises to pay electricity bills via the national QR Ph standard.

The integration represents the most extensive utility partnership to date for BillEase, according to a company statement. The service is now available to customers of Visayan Electric Co. in Cebu; Davao Light & Power Co. in Davao City and Davao del Norte; Cotabato Light & Power Co. in Mindanao; Subic EnerZone in Olongapo and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone; and Lima EnerZone in Batangas.

Under the new arrangement, users can settle their monthly electricity obligations with zero percent interest until their next payday or convert their balances into installment plans spanning up to six months. The feature utilizes the QR Ph national standard, an interoperable system regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas that ensures secure transactions across different financial institutions.

“Integrating BillEase into MobileAP reflects our commitment to empowering the evolution of our cities,” said Melody Lim, head of customer experience at AboitizPower.

Lim noted that by offering accessible buy-now-pay-later options, the company aims to help millions of households better manage their monthly cash flows while advancing a digitally enabled ecosystem across the regions.

To facilitate a transaction, customers open the MobileAP application and select BillEase as their preferred payment method. The platform generates a QR Ph code, which the user then scans or uploads within the BillEase app to finalize the payment.

The system allows users to draw from their available BillEase credit limits with no minimum bill amount required. There are currently no service fees for transactions made via the QR Ph gateway.

The move highlights an accelerating shift toward digital modernization within the Philippine energy sector, particularly in regions outside the capital. Kurt Molina, head of POS product at BillEase, said the partnership demonstrates how digital financial services can democratize access to essential utilities beyond Metro Manila.

The service is available immediately for customers in the covered service areas. By providing a bridge between credit services and utility payments, AboitizPower and BillEase are targeting a segment of the population that may require short-term liquidity to manage essential household expenses.
