NASUGBU, Batangas – Police rescued an abducted Chinese national in Sitio Pintong Bato, Barangay Calayo, this town, on Wednesday morning, Feb. 4.
Police withheld the identity of the victim.
With the assistance of an interpreter, the victim revealed that he received a phone call from a Taiwanese for a meeting in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The victim said that upon arrival at the meeting place at around 9 p.m. on Feb. 1, unidentified individuals suddenly covered his head and forced him into an unidentified vehicle.
The suspects demanded a P20-million ransom from his family in China. The victim was assaulted when the suspects were not paid.
He was taken to this town on board a vehicle and was ordered to get out. The victim jumped off a gully but the suspects did not pursue him.
Hours later, the victim crawled and reached the highway where he sought help from a farmer who reported him to the police.
Lawmen here have coordinated with the Muntinlupa City police Station and the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines over the incident.
