Founded in 1989, Wee Nam Kee has long been associated with traditional Singaporean cuisine, known for its carefully prepared poached chicken, fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth, and signature sauces. Renowned globally for its Hainanese chicken rice, the heritage brand recently marked a new chapter with the opening of its first Philippine branch at SM City Bacoor in December 2025.
The opening was highlighted by a visit from Wee Liang Lian, son of founder the late Wee Toon Ouut, underscoring the brand’s commitment to maintaining its long-standing standards of quality and authenticity.
The Bacoor branch is operated by the hospitality group behind Genki Sushi, Sen-ryo, Mango Tree and Tung Lok Seafood. The group aims to uphold Wee Nam Kee’s heritage while delivering the same dining experience that has made the brand a household name in Singapore and other parts of Asia.
The restaurant offers its signature Singaporean dishes, including Hainanese chicken rice, roasted chicken, roasted pork char siu, salted egg shrimp, sambal kangkong, fried squid mantou fritters, dim sum such as pork siomai and chicken feet, and Grandma’s noodles.
A refreshed menu is also set to roll out in February 2026, featuring new items such as seafood laksa, sambal fried rice, salmon fish head curry and a char siu noodle set.
Wee Nam Kee was founded by the late Wee Toon Ouut in the 1980s and built on the principle of “cooking with heart.” The brand has since expanded across Asia, with locations in Singapore, Indonesia, Japan and now the Philippines, with plans for further growth in the region.
The Bacoor store is located on the upper ground level of SM City Bacoor and operates daily during mall hours. It has a seating capacity of 119 and accepts cash as well as major credit and debit cards.
