MARIJUANA discovered in Bayawan City, Negros Occidental.
BACOLOD CITY – Three-thousand fully grown marijuana plants valued at P600,000 were uprooted and burned by the police in Sitio Mangga, Barangay Manduao, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental over the weekend.
The Bayawan City Police Station and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company were patrolling when they found a marijuana plantation on Saturday, Jan. 31.
Lawmen due to distance and safety considerations decided to burn these plants on-site after proper documentation in the presence of barangay officials.
Five marijuana stalks were preserved for laboratory examination.
Police Lt. Col. Joeson Parallag, Bayawan police chief, reiterated their commitment to proactive policing and relentless pursuit of a drug-free community.
He urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts.
