The United States Embassy in Manila’s social media operations are also affected by the government’s shut down.
The embassy on Monday, Feb. 2 said that its Facebook, X and Instagram accounts will not be updated regularly due to lapses in appropriations from the US Congress until full operations resume.
However, exemptions may include urgent safety and security information.
Meanwhile, scheduled visa interviews and American Citizens Services appointments at the US Embassy in Manila will proceed as scheduled during the lapse in appropriations, according to the embassy.
The offsite Visa Application Center in Parqal, Parañaque City, will also remain open for visa applicants who are scheduled for photo and fingerprint collection, it added.
The US government partially shut down starting Saturday as the House of Representatives is yet to also approve the final version of a package of five bills that the Senate already approved. The House is set to return to Washington on Monday.
The public may continue to contact the Consular Section through [email protected] (for U.S. Citizens) or https://ph.usembassy.gov/contact-us-visas/ (for visa applicants).
Please monitor our website for operations updates on U.S. citizen services at https://ph.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services and on visas at ph.usembassy.gov/visas, it added.
