The number of business permits processed by the Manila City government rose significantly in 2026 compared with the same period last year, reflecting faster and more efficient services for the business sector.
From Jan. 1 to 30, the city processed a total of 592 new business permits, an increase of 111.96 percent from the 234 permits recorded during the same period in 2025.
During the same period, the city also logged 46,577 business permit renewals, of which 39,392 have already been fully paid.
City officials said the figures indicate continued improvements in permit processing systems and growing confidence among business owners in Manila’s local government.
The city government said the increase in applications and renewals underscores efforts by the city to streamline procedures and make it easier for entrepreneurs to start and sustain their businesses in the capital.
