Food content creator Abi Marquez inspires hope as newest World Vision ambassador
By MBrand
Food has long been a creative language that allows award-winning content creator Abi Marquez to tell her story and connect to people. Known to millions of her followers as the “Lumpia Queen” for turning various dishes into lumpia, Abi believes in spreading joy and creating safe spaces for people through food.
She continues with this mission as she the newest ambassador of World Vision Philippines, a Christian humanitarian organization whose goal is to create a world where every child lives life in all its fullness.
“Becoming part of the World Vision family makes the work that I do even more meaningful and purposeful. It is a reminder that food is more than creativity or culture—it is a basic right that everyone, especially kids, should have access to.”
She also hopes that her partnership with World Vision can shine a light on the importance of food: “I hope in my own ways I can spread greater awareness on the importance of food in building stronger and healthier communities.”
To mark the partnership, last month, Abi visited a community in Manila – one of the areas of World Vision – where she spent time with children during a Kiddie Kitchen Session. The activity was filled with smiles and excitement as children were introduced to basic kitchen skills including basic peeling of fruits and decorating pancakes. The session ended in a heartfelt way as the children surprised Abi with a special song performance, while she shared gifts with them.
As part of World Vision Philippines’ mission to help children and their families build a better future, the organization continues to promote Child Sponsorship as a way for Filipinos to make a lasting difference in a child’s life. Through Child Sponsorship, supporters provide sustained support for children’s education, health, nutrition, and protection, while also helping strengthen their families and communities. Today, thousands of children across the Philippines are benefiting from this long-term commitment, giving them hope and opportunities to thrive.
But this is only the beginning of a meaningful partnership between Abi and World Vision as Dr. Herbert Q. Carpio, World Vision Philippines National Director said, “We’re excited to welcome Abi as one of World Vision’s ambassadors. With her creativity and influence, we hope that she can help us encourage many more Filipinos to sponsor kids so that they may achieve their full potential.”
