CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – A businesswoman was shot dead in Barangay San Fermin here on Saturday, Jan. 24.
The victim Angel, 43, was shot in the head and hand by a lone gunman while about to board her vehicle in front of her apartment.
The suspect fled and she was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.
Police recovered two empty shells of a 9mm caliber firearm at the scene.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, police arrested the suspect in the stabbing of a teacher in Disulap, San Mariano, Isabela.
The 40-year-old suspect was apprehended in Sindon Bayabo, Ilagan City.
Police said teacher Kelvin Solier was stabbed on Jan. 22 while on his way to San Isidro Integrated School.
The attack reportedly took place in a remote area and investigators said the suspect had posted hostile messages against the victim on social media.
Solier remains hospitalized and police are preparing charges against the suspect.
