The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, January 25, said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms across several areas of the Philippines are expected due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon (amihan).
In its latest weather forecast, PAGASA said moderate to at times heavy rains are expected in Caraga, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, and Bukidnon.
PAGASA warned residents in these areas of possible flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous communities.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said Cagayan Valley, the Bicol Region, the rest of the Visayas, the remaining parts of Northern Mindanao, and the provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon will see cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
No significant weather impacts are expected in these areas, the state weather bureau added.
PAGASA also said Metro Manila and the rest of the country are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, influenced by the northeast monsoon.
As of 3 a.m., PAGASA said it continues to monitor a Low Pressure Area (LPA), formerly “Ada,” which was located approximately 765 kilometers east of General Santos City, South Cotabato.
The public was advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins and take precautionary measures, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
