'Evangelion' in Manila
A limited collaboration with Niko and …
By Jared Cheng
For its 30th anniversary, "Neon Genesis Evangelion" collaborates with Japanese lifestyle and fashion brand niko and … for the limited release of its EVA (short for Evangelion) collection.
As soon as you enter their SM Mall of Asia store, a whole section is filled with exclusive clothing and merchandise such as shirts, hoodies, pins, and acrylic standees by the anime series. These lifestyle pieces are designed to reflect how the Japanese inject their craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Daisuke Fujii, CEO of Adastria, parent company of Niko and … shares, “Filipino consumers value design, story, and creativity. We see strong interest in Japanese culture and the ideas behind it. This collaboration is our way of celebrating Evangelion’s legacy while showing what we hope to build here. We want to grow with the market and bring more of our brands and experiences to the Philippines.”
Fans from all over the country gathered on launch day last Dec. 12, 2025, and got the first peek at the Evangelion-themed display area. Customers will also appreciate the small details such as the security standees that are wrapped with printouts of the different prominent characters from the series.
This collaboration turns a simple store visit into a memorable celebration of the anime’s 30-year legacy.
