Fresh graduates and those planning to shift careers are expected to see more job openings tied to technology this year, as companies ramp up their adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and other new technologies.
According to popular online job portal Jobstreet by SEEK, digital transformation will be at the forefront of job opportunities this year, leading to the opening of more technology-aligned roles.
Demand for AI-driven outputs and processes is expected to be the major trend in hiring, which may require upskilled and qualified candidates.
Jobstreet by SEEK also expects jobseekers to look for more flexible work arrangements this year, especially as employers have become more open to such setups and many workers want to avoid the grind of daily traffic.
It likewise anticipates an increased preference for companies that have strong corporate values, such as environmental, social, and governance standards, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion.
These projected trends in the job market this year are in sharp contrast to the in-demand roles last year, which were largely aligned with traditional job opportunities in the country.
According to Jobstreet by SEEK, administration and office support was the most sought-after role recruited for last year, accounting for 28.6 percent of job listings on its platform.
Engineering roles were the second most actively recruited, accounting for 10.2 percent of job posts.
Other major job listings were education and training roles at 9.2 percent, call center and customer service positions at 9.1 percent, and information and communication technology jobs at 6.6 percent.
Listings that saw steady hiring throughout 2025 include accounting at 5.8 percent, sales at five percent, manufacturing, transport, and logistics at 4.7 percent, retail and consumer products at 2.7 percent, and marketing and communications at 2.6 percent.
Jobstreet by SEEK said many of these roles will continue to stay strong this year.
In terms of jobseekers, candidates from call center and customer service were found to be the most active in pursuing jobs on the platform, representing 12.3 percent of the total.
Also active in seeking employment were aspirants from the hospitality and tourism sector at 9.8 percent, manufacturing, transport, and logistics at eight percent, information and communication technology at 7.5 percent, and engineering at 6.5 percent.
Dannah Majarocon, managing director of Jobstreet by SEEK in the Philippines, said their platform intends to remain a reliable partner in connecting jobseekers with meaningful job opportunities.
“With this commitment in mind, we look forward to deepening our impact and supporting even more stakeholders in the year ahead,” Majarocon said.
