"Lubos ang ating kasiyahan na tanggapin sa ating Opisina si H.E. Sarah Hulton Obe, Ambassador ng United Kingdom of Great Britain at Northern Ireland to the Philippines noong nakaraang buwan para sa isang Courtesy Call (We were pleased to welcome Her Excellency Sarah Hulton OBE, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Philippines, to our Office last month for a courtesy call)," Duterte said in a Facebook post on Monday, Jan. 5.
Duterte said she briefed Ambassador Hulton on the programs of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), including the various satellite offices of the OVP located across the country.
The Vice President also expressed her gratitude to the United Kingdom for its care for and recognition of the contributions of Filipinos, particularly those working in the healthcare sector.
"Pinasalamatan ko rin siya sa pag-aalaga at pagkilala sa kontribusyon ng ating mga kababayan lalo na sa larangan ng healthcare (Pinasalamatan ko rin siya sa pag-aalaga at pagkilala sa kontribusyon ng ating mga kababayan lalo na sa larangan ng healthcare)," she said.
Duterte shared that she was pleased to hear Ambassador Hulton speak in Filipino, which the envoy said she learned during her work in the Philippines many years ago.
The Vice President concluded her post with the message: “Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas—para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at sa bawat Pamilyang Pilipino (Let us love the Philippines—for God, for the nation, and for every Filipino family).”
