CIDG arrests NPA's medical officer in Agusan del Norte operation

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested a 26-year old medical officer of the New People’s Army (NPA) following an operation in Butuan City in Agusan del Norte.
CIDG director Maj. Gen. Robert AA Morico II said the female suspect is facing charges of violation some provisions of the Republic Act No. 9851, or the Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against Humanity.
“The successful operation is part of our effort to hunt down wanted fugitives,” said Morico, adding that the arrest happened on Dec. 23 in Barangay Bancasi.
He said the female suspect is a member of the Medical Unit of Sandatahang Digma Group Samsung, Guerrilla Front Huawei, Sub-Regional Committee 1 (SR-1), North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).
She is also listed in the military’s Periodic Status Report (PSR).
Citing background reports, Morico said the suspect was allegedly involved in several violent activities in Claveria, Farmbugas, and Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental, including the burning of two ten-wheeler trucks owned by Del Monte Philippines in 2017.
