President Marcos said Filipinos have emerged stronger after a year marked by challenges, as he thanked the public for facing trials with courage and resilience in his Christmas message.
In a video message posted on his official social media accounts on Christmas morning, the President said the nation was able to overcome difficulties by confronting them together and with resolve.
“Sa lahat ng pagsubok na buong tapang nating hinarap, tayo ay naging matagumpay (In all the trials we bravely faced, we emerged successful),” he said on Dec. 25.
According to the President, the end of the year is a moment for Filipinos to pause and express gratitude for the blessings they received despite hardships.
“Sa pagtatapos nitong taon, tayo ay magpasalamat para sa mga biyayang ating natanggap (As this year ends, let us give thanks for the blessings we have received),” he said.
Marcos extended his greeting to Filipinos both in the country and abroad, expressing hope that they remain in good health and well-being.
“Sa pagsasalubong natin sa Pasko at ng bagong taon, nawa’y lalo pa tayong mabiyayaan ng magandang kalusugan… at magkaroon ng mas masaganang pamumuhay (As we welcome Christmas and the new year, may we be blessed with good health and a more prosperous life),” he said.
He also underscored the central role of family and community in helping Filipinos endure the challenges of the year.
In a separate Christmas message released by Malacañang, the President urged Filipinos to carry forward the lessons of the season through compassion and generosity.
“Let us become a source of light and goodness to our fellow Filipinos this Christmas and in the years to come,” Marcos said.
He described Christmas as a distinctly Filipino season marked not only by celebration but by reflection and sharing, especially with those facing hardship.
“Truly, no other occasion stirs a warmer and more festive spirit in all of us than the Filipino Christmas,” the President said.
Marcos reminded the public to remember those in need amid holiday gatherings, including the poor, the sick, and communities affected by calamities.
“As we enjoy our gatherings, let us also remember those who are in most need of our compassion and generosity,” he said.
“Let us bring kindness, happiness, and good cheer to everyone we meet, especially to our children,” he added.
