Air France will suspend its direct flights between Paris and Manila for the summer 2026 season, shifting the route to seasonal operation just a year after its high-profile return to the Philippine market.
The SkyTeam alliance carrier plans to halt its three-times-weekly flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Manila from May 4 through Oct. 12, 2026, according to schedule updates from AeroRoutes.
The Manila Bulletin has reached out to Air France for official comments on the schedule adjustment and will update this story once more information becomes available.
The suspension follows Air France’s high-profile return to the Philippines in December 2024, which ended a 20-year hiatus in direct connectivity between Paris and Manila.
Air France currently operates the route using Airbus SE A350-900 aircraft. While the carrier is expected to resume the service for the winter 2026-2027 schedule, the temporary withdrawal complicates government efforts to bolster long-haul tourism.
The Department of Tourism has been lobbying for increased direct links to Europe to reduce reliance on connecting hubs in the Middle East and Asia.
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has expressed a long-standing interest in returning to European capitals, but the flag carrier has yet to finalize a timeline.
