TAYABAS CITY, Quezon – A 41-year-old businessman was killed and five were injured after a trailer truck rammed two vehicles in Barangay Camaysa here on Saturday, Dec. 20.
Police Lt. Col. Elizabeth Capistrano, Tayabas City police chief, identified the victim as Jeffrey.
Injured were Dennis, 37; Walter, 53, trailer truck driver, and crew Christopher, 48; Dave, 30, and Endre, 45.
Capistrano said the truck transporting a backhoe was moving fast and lost its brakes and rammed Jeffrey’s car and Dennis’ pickup truck in front of a restaurant. Jeffrey and Dennis were pinned underneath their vehicles.
Rescuers extracted Jeffrey and Dennis and taken to separate hospitals.
Jeffrey was declared dead on arrival at the Tayabas Community Hospital. Dennis was taken to Quezon Medical Hospital in Lucena City, Quezon.
The victims' vehicles were a total wreck.
Walter faces cases of homicide, multiple physical Injuries, and damage to property.
