Manila police arrest gun-for-hire group leader

Operatives of the Manila Police District – District Police Intelligence and Operations Unit (DPIOU) arrested the alleged leader of a gun-for-hire group late Thursday afternoon, Dec. 11, at the corner of Calamansi and Magsaysay Streets in Barangay 120, Tondo, Manila.

The suspect, identified as Andrew, alias “Andro,” 45, a pedicab driver and resident of Magsaysay St., Brgy. 120, Zone 9, Tondo, is now under DPIOU custody.

According to MPD, the arrest took place around 3:30 p.m. after operatives spotted the suspect in the area.

The operation was carried out by virtue of an arrest warrant issued on April 11, 2025 by Presiding Judge Maria Lourdes Estrada-Mislang of Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 39.

The suspect is facing charges of murder before the said court.
