Private schools in Muntinlupa given leeway to decide on wellness break
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced that the implementation of the one-week Wellness Break in private schools will depend on their administration.
Biazon earlier announced that the Wellness Break from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2 covered all levels in public and private schools in Muntinlupa.
“Ang pagpapatupad ng Wellness Break sa private schools ay nakadepende sa desisyon ng kanilang school administration (The implementation of Wellness Break in private schools depends on the decision of their school administration),” Biazon announced on Oct. 25.
He changed the earlier decision after some private schools gave their feedback to the first announcement. The city government conducted a consultation to know the position of each school about the Wellness Break.
“Dahil iba-iba ang sitwasyon ng mga private schools at ang dahilan ng health break, napagdesisyunan na ibigay sa kanilang school management ang desisyon kung sasabay sila sa schedule ng public schools o hindi. Ibig sabihin, hindi lahat ng private schools ay required na mag-implement nito (Because the situation of private schools and the reason for the health break are different, it was decided to give their school management the decision whether they will follow the schedule of public schools or not. This means that not all private schools are required to implement it),” the mayor said.
He advised students to contact their schools if there will be a Wellness Break.
