Boy, 16, yields marijuana, kush in Iloilo City drug sting

ILOILO CITY — Police seized three kilos of marijuana and 15 grams of high-grade kush from a 16-year-old boy in a buy-bust operation here.

Alias Toto was caught by the Iloilo City Police Office-Police Station 4 on Wednesday evening in Zone 3, Barangay Compania Central, Molo District.

The Police Regional Office-6 is alarmed by the suspect's apprehension.

“The involvement of a minor in this case is truly concerning and reminds us of the need for greater guidance and awareness among our youth,” said Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, PRO-6 director.

“I urge parents to be actively involved in guiding their children and protecting them from the influence of illegal drugs,” added Ligan in a statement on Thursday, Oct. 16.

Ligan praised the ICPO led by Police Col. Kim Legada and ICPO-PS 4 for their achievement.

The minor is under the custody of the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office.
