OMB's officials, employees ready for new Ombudsman Remulla
Officials and personnel of the Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) are now ready for their first meeting with newly appointed Ombudsman Jesus Crispin C. Remulla who said he will assume his new post on Friday, Oct. 10.
Also ready for Remulla are his actions on the nine fraud audit reports submitted by the Commission on Audit (COA) on several “ghost” flood-control projects in Bulacan.
Aside from the COA’s reports, Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon has filed graft and malversation charges against several officials from the Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) and private contractors on “ghost and substandard” flood-control projects.
The OMB’s Public Information and Media Relations Bureau (PIMRB) said that they are busy with "anticipatory preparations" while the "OMB Proper Office has been cleaned up and tarpaulins are ready."
Outside the OMB’s office in Agham Road, Quezon City, a tarpaulin bearing the face of the former Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Remulla had just been put up on Wednesday morning with the message: "Congratulations & Welcome! Hon. Jesus Crispin C. Remulla."
In an interview after his appointment as Ombudsman, Remulla vowed to get to the bottom of the corruption “firestorm,” as he pointed out that he will prioritize the complaints filed by the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI), DPWH, and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
