Super Junior marks 20th anniversary with sold-out 'Super Show 10' concert in Manila
K-pop boy band Super Junior had a spectacular show in Manila to mark their 20th anniversary since their debut.
They held their “Super Show 10” concert on Oct. 4 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. “Super Show 10” is the 10th edition of their “Super Show” tour which started in 2008.
Super Junior debuted in 2005 with the song “Twins (Knock Out)” and will officially reach their 20th year in November.
In the past 20 years, they have racked up awards, including Album of the Year and Artist of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), and Korea’s Most Popular Artist at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards.

Heechul said, “I think it's been seven years since I've been here in the Philippines. Well it feels like I’m quite not sure when I’ll be back after tonight. However, as long as it’s with Super Junior members and ELFs, I promise I will never miss the opportunity to be back.”
“I just wanna say thank you. I love you. You guys are so amazing, perfect, greatest, gorgeous,” said Eunhyuk.
He thanked the fan projects, including the fountain event and the Cebu dancing inmates’ performance of Super Junior’s songs.
In 2009, the Cebu dancing inmates performed Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry.”
“It was a great gift for us. Please don’t forget that we are always by your side,” said Eunhyuk.
Leader Leeteuk talked about Super Junior’s first concert in the Philippines in 2010 and the efforts to bring the “Super Show” concert to the country.
Leeteuk said, “I remember when I was here in the Philippines for the first time. Actually our tour was over by then. And suddenly one phone call from the Philippines came to Korea: ‘So how can we have a Super Junior show here in the Philippines?’ However, our tour was already done. And the Philippines invited us and we performed. And today we celebrate our 20th anniversary.”
Pulp Live World brought Super Junior’s “Super Show 2” in Manila, the first full-scale K-pop concert in the country.
“It’s really an honor and very humbling to have presented Super Junior’s first concert in Manila in 2010 and now their SS10 show 15 years later. It’s a beautiful reminder of the journey we’ve shared with them and their fans,” Happee Sy-Go of Pulp Live World told Manila Bulletin.
She added, “I felt a deep sense of pride and gratitude for how far they’ve come, and also for how far the entire K-pop scene in the Philippines has grown since then.”
Leeteuk also mentioned the Cebu dancing inmates’ performance in 2009, saying, “It became a hot trend worldwide. And it was reenacted again this time.”
“We’re building up more and more memories together. I’m very excited about what kind of memories we’re about to build further. Will you guys still like us even when we are ‘ahjussi’ (middle-aged men)?” Leeteuk asked the audience.
The audience shouted, “Yes!”
