The Muntinlupa City government is offering amnesty for impounded vehicles owned by residents.
The Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau (MTMB) said qualified under the amnesty program are residents whose vehicles were impounded on or before Sept. 16.
The amnesty period will be from Oct. 1 to Dec. 29 this year.
Those who will avail of the amnesty program will have the following benefits: 100 percent waiver on storage fees, 50 percent reduction on accrued surcharge on fines and penalties, 50 percent reduction on towing fee, and release clearance upon full compliance.
Residents who will avail of the amnesty program need to go to the MTMB office at the third level of the South Park Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa, and present their official receipt (OR) and certificate of registration (CR) or notarized affidavit of ownership, and valid government ID of the owner.
For representatives, they need to present an authorization letter and IDs of the representative and owner.
They need to pay the fees and get the receipt and release clearance that they will bring to the impounding area in Pacwood, Barangay Tunasan to claim the vehicle.
Not included in the amnesty program are vehicles under criminal proceedings, covered by a court hold order or lien, and being used as evidence.
Vehicles that will not be claimed during the amnesty period may be auctioned, donated or scrapped, according to the guidelines.
