Police arrested a 34-year-old man for selling an unregistered firearm in Muntinlupa City on Oct. 2.
The Southern Police District launched a buy-bust operation on Buendia Street in Barangay Tunasan, Muntinlupa after receiving a report from a regular confidential informant.
Authorities arrested alias Cristopher, who is facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act).
Police seized a .45-caliber pistol used in the transaction, a magazine, a genuine P500 bill used as marked money, and a cell phone.
The suspect identified his cohort as alias Banong, who remains at large and was allegedly involved in a previous shooting incident in Barangay Bayanan, Muntinlupa.
The entrapment operation was conducted by the SPD’s District Special Operations Unit in coordination with the District Intelligence Division, Intelligence Section, District Mobile Force Battalion, and the Muntinlupa police.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, acting SPD district director, said, “This operation underscores the SPD’s relentless commitment to cracking down on the proliferation of illegal firearms, which pose a direct threat to the safety and security of our communities.”
