Season 2 of global hit series 'Fallout' to premiere on Prime Video in December
Prime Video debuted the teaser trailer for season 2 of the critically acclaimed global hit series “Fallout” at Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming event.
During the Gamescom Opening Night Live global livestream, it was also revealed that the highly anticipated new season will premiere on Dec. 17 with the eight-episode season rolling out with one new episode weekly until the season finale on Feb. 4 next year.
The Emmy-nominated “Fallout” season 1, which premiered in April last year, has amassed more than 100 million viewers worldwide, ranking among the service's top three most-watched titles ever.
Last year, Manila Bulletin interviewed “Fallout” star Ella Purnell and director and executive producer Jonathan Nolan about season 1 in Mumbai, India.
“Fallout” is produced by Kilter Films, with executive producers Nolan and Lisa Joy. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as executive producers, creators, and showrunners.
In front of a packed crowd of over 5,000 attendees at Gamescom, Nolan, Robertson-Dworet, and series stars Purnell and Aaron Moten gave insight into season 2’s stakes and the journey ahead for series favorite characters Lucy, Maximus, and The Ghoul.
They surprised the crowd by revealing the series' teaser-trailer. The footage introduced a new cast member, Justin Theroux, in the role of Robert House, and gave audiences their first glimpse of one of the “Fallout” universe's most terrifying post-apocalyptic predators: the Deathclaw.
Earlier, Prime Video and Kilter Films unveiled the first-look images for “Fallout” season 2. The new season will pick up in the aftermath of season 1’s epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.
Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, “Fallout” is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have.
Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.
The series stars Purnell (“Yellowjackets,” “Sweetpea”), Moten (“Emancipation,” “Father Stu”), Walton Goggins (“The White Lotus,” “The Righteous Gemstones”), Kyle MacLachlan (“Twin Peaks”), Moisés Arias (“The King of Staten Island”), and Frances Turner (“The Boys”).
Season 1 is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
