'Wednesday' season 2 starring Jenna Ortega debuts at No. 1 on Netflix
Season 2 of “Wednesday” starring Jenna Ortega debuted at No. 1 on Netflix, which released the first four episodes on Aug. 6.
Based on Netflix’s own weekly Global Top 10 of the most watched shows and films on the platform for Aug. 4 to 10, “Wednesday” season 2 debuted on top of the English TV list with 50 million views.
It garnered the No. 1 spot in 91 out of 91 countries and territories, including the US, Philippines, Vietnam, Canada, United Kingdom and Indonesia. It is in the top 10 in South Korea and Japan.
Season 1 of “Wednesday,” which premiered in November 2022, rose to No. 2 with 8.6 million views for the week.
“KPop Demon Hunters” is No. 2 on the English Film list with 25.9 million views this week. Its popularity catapulted it to the No. 2 on Netflix’s Most Popular list.
