A 3-year-old girl was injured after being hit and dragged by a tricycle in Barangay 336, Sta. Cruz, Manila.
According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the child suddenly crossed the road when the incident occurred.
Police said the tricycle driver attempted to brake, but the vehicle abruptly tilted, hitting the girl and dragging her a short distance.
The girl was immediately brought to a nearby hospital. Police said the child and passengers of the tricycles sustained lacerations on their arms and legs.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
CCTV footage showed that an SUV parked on the sidewalk was hit when the tricycle tilted.
The case has raised safety concerns among residents, particularly in areas with young children and heavy pedestrian activity.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with authorities and the child's family.
The girl's parents have chosen not to file a complaint against the driver.
The MPD reiterated its advice to parents to closely supervise their children and avoid allowing them to play near roads.
