Marcos urges Filipino-Chinese entrepreneurs to uplift small businesses

Filipino-Chinese businessmen in the country were encouraged to uplift small and medium-sized businesses as President Marcos stressed that doing so would boost the entire economy.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of officers to the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) on Tuesday, June 10, Marcos challenged the businessmen to "lead with clarity."
Marcos told the federation to not only focus on large enterprises, but also on small businesses.
"I challenge you now to lead with clarity. Steer our industries towards innovative strategies that are globally competitive, sustainable, and ready for the future," Marcos said.
"But your leadership should not only focus on large enterprises. It is just as crucial that you empower small and medium-sized businesses. By uplifting them, you are also uplifting the entire economy and the entire nation," he stated.
The President also encouraged the FFCCCII officers to honor the legacy that binds the Philippines and China and inspire the future generation to carry the two countries' joint heritage, which, he said, was "one of our greatest strengths."
He told them that they are "uniquely positioned" to help deepen the Philippines' international partnership with China.
"Stronger ties mean better trade, greater investments, and enhanced collaboration. Use your platform to showcase the Philippines as a dependable partner for economic growth," Marcos said.
In his speech, the President commended the federation for its enduring commitment to national progress since 1954.
“True progress does not happen overnight. It is built patiently and purposefully by those who believe in something greater than themselves,” Marcos said.
Marcos highlighted how the federation’s decades of civic engagement have helped bridge divides across sectors and ethnic lines.
“In all these endeavors, the FFCCCII has been a reliable foundation for bridging differences between communities, laying the groundwork for growth, and harnessing the strength of collective action,” he said.
The Chief Executive administered the oath of office of 265 newly-elected officers of the FFCCCII.
The FFCCCII advocates for business and economic growth while supporting various philanthropic and civic initiatives. Its recent projects include the lighting of the historic Jones Bridge and ongoing beautification efforts in the Binondo Chinatown district.
