Mayor Honey bids farewell, urges continued 'Tapat at Totoo' service in final month

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna urged city officials and employees to make the most of her final month in office by continuing to uphold the city's legacy of honest and genuine public service as her term comes to a close.

“Let us make the most of June,” the mayor said during the regular flag-raising ceremony held Monday morning at Manila City Hall.

The event, hosted by the Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center under the leadership of its director, Dr. Ted Martin, was attended by Vice Mayor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto and other city officials.

In a heartfelt message, the mayor expressed deep gratitude to the people of Manila for entrusting her with the mayoral role.

“I am truly thankful to every Manileño for the opportunity to serve. Being the first lady mayor of our city is not just a milestone—it has been an immense honor,” she said.

The mayor also extended her appreciation to fellow officials, employees, and colleagues in the city government for their support throughout her administration.

“Serving Manila is not just a duty, it is an honor and a responsibility,” she remarked.

“Despite the challenges, I have always believed that the true strength of the government lies in the heart and dedication of every public servant.”

She credited the success of her administration’s programs to the collective efforts of the city’s workforce, regardless of rank or role.

“As I prepare to leave office, I call on everyone to continue providing sincere, prompt, and compassionate service to every Manileño,” she added.

The city government highlighted Lacuna's tenure as one marked by significant strides in healthcare, social services, and infrastructure, with her leadership earning praise for being hands-on and people-focused.
