In an emotional message, she reflected on the bittersweet timing of Red’s passing, which occurred during a month filled with family birthdays.
"To be greeted ‘happy birthday’ and ‘sorry for your loss’ at the same time three consecutive days of what was supposed to be a celebration full of birthdays. May was our month! 5th, 28th, 29th and 30th,” Sandy wrote. “My husband suddenly passed away the morning of Tuesday, May 27th... Today would have been his 51st birthday."
She remembered Red as a devoted husband and father to their three children.
Sandy asked for prayers and privacy for their family.
Tributes from former colleagues poured in following the announcement.
"T.G.I.S." director Mark Reyes expressed his sorrow in a social media post, writing, “The entire 'T.G.I.S' Barkada is heartbroken to lose one of our own. Kiko, we love you and we’re giving you a group hug right now.”
Reyes tagged fellow cast members including Angelu De Leon, Bobby Andrews, Michael John Flores, Rica Peralejo, and Ciara Sotto.
