Quezon City 4th district Rep. Marvin Rillo will follow the lead of fellow defeated poll candidate Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. in pursuing cyber libel cases against supposed personalities who spread fake news against them.
"Yes, Sen. Bong! We are one with you," Rillo wrote on Facebook Wednesday, May 28 in reference to Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) Chairman Revilla who had announced his legal action.
"We support your move to file cases against the spreaders of disinformation and fake news," said Rillo, also a Lakas-CMD stalwart.
"Kami rin po ay magsasampa ng cyber libel cases laban sa mga taong nagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon na sumira sa aming pangalan at layunin sa serbisyo (We will also file cyber libel cases against those who spread false information that has damaged our name and purpose in service)," he added.
Rillo is coming off a heartbreaking result in the May 12 mid-term elections wherein he lost the districtt seat by around 200 votes to Bong Suntay.
Revilla, a member of the administration-backed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate, failed to retain his post after failing to land in the top 12 of the Senate race. He placed 14th.
