A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck General Nakar, Quezon at 12:17 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, based on the report from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tremor was also felt in various parts of Metro Manila.
Phivolcs said the epicenter was located 24 kilometers northwest of General Nakar town.
The earthquake was triggered by the movement of a local fault traversing the Sierra Madre mountain range.
The tremor registered Intensity IV (moderately strong) in Makati City, Manila City, and Marikina City in Metro Manila; San Pedro City in Laguna; and Tanay in Rizal.
Intensity III (weak) shaking was felt in Navotas City, Quezon City, Pasay City, San Juan City, and Taguig City in Metro Manila; Guiguinto and Malolos City in Bulacan; Palayan City in Nueva Ecija; Mabalacat City and Angeles City in Pampanga; and Biñan, Laguna.
Meanwhile, Intensity II (slightly felt) was recorded in Caloocan City, Mandaluyong City, Parañaque City, and Valenzuela City in Metro Manila; Obando, Bulacan; and Cabiao, Nueva Ecija.
Phivolcs also urged the public to stay vigilant due to the possible aftershocks.
