Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan reminded all officials and employees of the city government to take proper care of public property, emphasizing that these assets were acquired through taxpayers’ money.
The mayor stressed that every office under the local government shares responsibility in maintaining city-owned assets.
"Ito ay responsibilidad ng bawat isang tanggapan dito sa ating pamahalaan. Samakatwid, sana, ayusin po natin at siguraduhin na lahat ng pag-aari ng ating lungsod ay nagagamit nang wasto at napag-iingatan, dahil ito po ay gagamitin pa ng mga susunod na mamamahala sa ating lungsod (It is the responsibility of every office in our government. Therefore, let us make sure that all city-owned properties are properly used and well taken care of, because these will still be used by those who will lead our city in the future), she said.
The mayor also expressed her appreciation for the City General Services Office (CGSO) for their consistent efforts in ensuring that city properties are kept in top condition.
In the same address, Lacuna-Pangan brought up the work schedule followed by city hall employees.
She consulted the employees in attendance about whether they preferred to return to the traditional schedule or maintain their current 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. working hours.
Mayor Lacuna acknowledged the response and praised the workforce's discipline and commitment, noting how the early schedule has become a well-adjusted routine for many.
