Woman shot dead during birthday party in Manila

A 30-year-old woman was shot dead in the middle of a birthday party in Sampaloc, Manila.

The victim, identified as Carmen, was reportedly sitting with her friends when two suspects on a motorcycle suddenly arrived.

In the barangay's CCTV footage, the motorcycle was seen passing through a narrow alley.

Witnesses said the back rider opened fire, hitting Carmen and two barangay watchmen, one of whom was the victim’s live-in partner.

Authorities said the incident happened on Thursday, May 22.

The Manila Police District said one angle being explored is a possible love triangle as the motive behind the attack. 
Police added that a hot pursuit operation is ongoing to identify and locate the suspects.
