Senator JV Ejercito views the ongoing Cabinet revamp as a way to boot out officials who "wasted the President’s good will".
"The reboot is a good start but changing faces in the cabinet isn’t enough. This should serve as a wake-up call for everyone to be on their toes," Ejercito said in a statement Saturday, May 24.
"The cleansing must continue. Those who have weighed down the administration and wasted the President’s good will must be removed. It is now time to choose leaders who understand the realities on the ground and who will serve with urgency, not excuses," he noted.
President Marcos launched the Cabinet overhaul right in the middle of his six-year Palace tenure, and just days after the May 12 mid-term elections.
"Three years have passed and the people are looking for real results and action," Ejercito noted.
"Hindi na makakahintay ang mga kababayan nating dumaranas ng kahirapan at kumakalam ang sikmura (Our fellow citizens suffering from poverty and hunger can no longer wait)," he added.
"Panahon na para isipin kung ano ang makakabuti sa bayan at hindi ang pansariling interes! (It’s time to think about what is best for the country—not personal interests!)," he further said.
