VP Duterte nemesis Chua open to working with Akbayan, ML solons

Chua on Saturday, May 24, says he is hoping to work with incoming Akbayan Party-list Reps. Chel Diokno, Perci Cendaña, and Dadah Kiram Ismula as well as with incoming ML Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima.
Chua, who had been subject of tirades from impeached Vice President Sara Duterte, looks forward to working with the solons in his committee because he knows "they are highly qualified to help in promoting good governance, transparency, and accountability."
Chua say Filipino politics is not just black or white, noting it has different shades and hues.
"Congress is a tapestry of many threads that the Filipino people weave whenever we have elections," he said.
"It is now up to all of us in Congress to discern what the voters ultimately mandated all of us to do and how best to serve those mandates," he added.
It remains to be seen of Chua will retain the chairmanship of his committee in the 20th Congress.
Many of the pieces of evidence in the impeachment of Vice President Duterte came from the findings of the Chua panel, which conducted multiple hearings last year on the lady officia'ls misuse of confidential funds.
