The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now checking on the reported disappearance of a retired police general who testified but later recanted his statement against former senator Leila de Lima in drug cases that were already junked by the court.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil said they are now getting all the details in connection with retired police general Jerry Valeroso.
“We are checking on what happened… we will give you updates,” said Marbil in an interview at Camp Crame.
Valeroso was reportedly last seen on April 6 in Cavite with a bodyguard.
His wife Nida has already asked for the assistance from the netizens on the whereabouts of her husband whom she said has been missing for almost two months already.
Valeroso earlier claimed to have seen drug money that was given to de Lima when she was still the Justice secretary.
But he later recanted his statement by saying that the allegations were lies and that his decision to recant was aimed at setting free all accused who were wrongfully charged.
