The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) have launched a real-time digital monitoring platform to strengthen transparency and accountability in the implementation of public infrastructure projects.
DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman formalized the partnership through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the Digital Imaging for Monitoring and Evaluation (DIME) program on May 20 in Quezon City.
The initiative utilizes satellite imagery, drone surveillance, geotagging, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to monitor project progress, verify accomplishments, and ensure responsible use of public funds, particularly in remote and disadvantaged areas.
Bonoan said the project aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas agenda, which promotes innovation-driven governance and data-enabled public service.
Under the agreement, DPWH and DBM will enhance the DIME platform with real-time updates, interactive mapping tools, and multimedia content to provide stakeholders clearer visibility of ongoing infrastructure works.
Both agencies also pledged continued coordination on ground validation, system improvements, and training initiatives to support the platform’s long-term implementation.
