Busted pipe in Antipolo leaves hundreds without water in Rizal and Marikina

A busted water pipeline in Barangay Mayamot in Antipolo City resulted in a water service interruption for more than 10 hours in large communities in Antipolo and Cainta in Rizal Province, and some portions in Marikina City from noontime until late evening on May 19.
Manila Water, in its afternoon advisory on its social media pages, said the technical difficulties encountered by Manila Water contractors in repairing the leak in the pipeline at Sumulong Highway corner F. Oldan Streets in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City resulted in the extension of the repair activity from the scheduled 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 19.
The east zone water concessionaire’s advisory said the emergency leak repair resulted in the temporary water interruption in parts of Barangay Mayamot in Antipolo City and Barangay San Isidro in Cainta, and some portions of Barangay Concepcion Dos in Marikina City.
Netizens who posted messages on the social media pages of Manila Water said the loss of water service in their areas started around 12 noon. At around 9 p.m., some portions of the affected communities remained without water.

Manila Water also announced that a separate emergency leak repair activity will happen starting at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, until 4 a.m. on May 21, Wednesday, in some parts of Barangay Mayamot, Bagong Nayon and Barangay San Luis, all in Antipolo City.
