Thousands of Las Piñeros gathered at the Aguilar Sports Complex in Barangay Pilar on Friday, May 9, to show their support for the “Tatak Nene Aguilar” team during their meeting de avance -- the final opportunity for candidates to present their platforms before the election period ends.
Vice-Mayor April Aguilar, who is vying for the mayoral seat in the May 12 National and Local Elections, vowed to work hard on new projects aimed at improving the lives Las Piñeros and further developing the city.
Aguilar is set to succeed her mother, Mayor Imelda Aguilar, who will be running for vice mayor in the upcoming elections.
Addressing thousands of supporters, Aguilar vowed to continue the free education program initiated by her late father, former Mayor Vergel Aguilar.
She proudly announced that the city had recently built six additional day care centers, bringing the total to 109, ensuring access to free early education for nursery and kindergarten students.
She also highlighted the 5K Program -- Kalusugan, Kaalaman, Kaayusan, Kabuhayan, and Kinabukasan -- which has been benefiting residents.
Under Kalusugan, the city government provides free services in lying-in clinics, free burial assistance, hospitalization support through Green Card program worth P30,000, and annual check-ups at Hi-Precision. The city has a total of 30 health centers.
The Tatak Nene Aguilar team expressed deep gratitude to Las Piñeros for their consistent support, trust, and confidence in their leadership -- values that they had shown to the late Mayor Nene Aguilar.
Celebrity supporters Maricel Soriano, Maja Salvador, Enrique Gil, and Aivee Aguilar joined the candidates on stage to show their support.
As the campaign period draws, Team Aguilar wrapped up their miting de avance with a strong call for unity, transparency, and public service under the Tatak Nene Aguilar legacy -- urging the community to elect leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people above all else.
