Gang member arrested for robbery, illegal possession of firearm in Ermita
An alleged member of “Bahala Na Gang” was arrested on Wednesday, May 7, following a robbery incident in Ermita, Manila.
Personnel of the Ermita Police Station PS-5, under the Manila Police District (MPD), apprehended John Francis Olaguer, 24, a resident of Isla Puting Bato in Tondo.
According to the initial investigation, the robbery took place at 6:25 a.m. at the corner of Nakpil Street and Taft Avenue, while the female victim was waiting for a bus.
Olaguer, who was waiting nearby on a black Yamaha NMAX motorcycle, assisted in the getaway.
A follow-up operation was immediately launched, resulting in Olaguer’s arrest at Isla Bungad in Tondo.
Police said Olaguer’s accomplice is still at large.
The arrested suspect will be charged with robbery-snatching, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and violation of the election gun ban.
