Toto surprises Filipino fans with Journey frontman Arnel Pineda

After 17 years, the legendary rock band Toto knows how to deliver a comeback concert for their Filipino fans, which was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on May 4.Presented by Ovation Production, the sold-out arena was about to witness a night full of their timeless classic, with Toto delivering musical brilliance loved by their Pinoy fans.
With their signature sound of rock, pop, funk, and jazz elements, Toto's setlist didn't disappoint. The loudest cheer erupted in the arena when the band took center stage and opened the song "Rosanna" from their album "TOTO IV.
It was surreal to hear them live with my dad because, growing up, our routine was to listen to Toto every weekend whenever he came home from working overseas. So, it was a full circle for both of us, and we enjoyed every minute.
Before moving on to a new song, frontman Joseph Williams thanked all the fans who attended tonight and sang along with them.
"It is a privilege and honor for us to come down here and play for you guys. You guys are singing so great; this room is shaped so great, and we can see all of you. Thank you so much for coming," Joseph said.
The night continued as they performed some of their other classic hits, such as "99, "Mindfields," "I Will Remember," and "Pamela."
The chemistry and bond between Joseph and Steve were undeniable. They were joined by other incredibly talented musicians, and they had their solo acts in between sets. Moving forward with the concert, the audience was transported to another era of Toto songs as they went ahead and performed, "I Won't Hold You Back", "Angel Don't Cry", and "Georgy Porgy."
Longtime fans who grew up listening to Toto's music and younger listeners who discovered their sound through a new age of appreciation and digital platforms.
The performance demonstrated that great music is ageless, and audiences of all ages are still inspired and brought together by Toto's history.The night continued as the band performed fan-favorite songs such as "White Angel", "I'll Be Over You," and "Stop Loving You."
As the two-hour concert was about to end, Toto sang another set of classic hits, "Don't Chain My Heart", "I'll Supply the Love,"  and "Hold the Line."As they performed their encore song, "Africa," Toto surprised fans by bringing Journey vocalist Arnel Pineda on stage to close the concert.
