Malabon LGU completes half of multi-story apartment tombs in Tugatog cemetery
The Malabon City government has ensured that the departed loved ones of Malabueños will have a more orderly, safer, and more peaceful final resting place, following the completion of about 50 percent of the first phase of the multi-story apartment-type tombs being constructed at the Tugatog Public Cemetery.
As I promised before, we will ensure that the final resting place of our departed loved ones will be better, dignified, and respectful).”
Sandoval also mentioned that, although the project may not have been formally turned over to their administration during the early days of their term, they will ensure it receives full attention.
We will not neglect it. The construction of the columbarium apartment-type building continues, to provide peace of mind to families with loved ones laid to rest here),” she added.
According to the report by the City Engineering Department, the city government conducted several construction activities from April 4 to April 30. The activities included concrete pouring on the building's ground floor, CHB laying for walls, plastering of the building's septic tank, backfilling of soil aggregates on excavated parts, setting of elevation markers on columns, and installation of platforms and reinforcement bars, laying, and formworks, among others.
The building will have a total area of 908 square meters, with 360 niches on the ground floor and 288 on the second floor.
We consider the peace of our hearts and the souls of our departed loved ones as we improve the Tugatog Public Cemetery. We will keep working on programs to maintain and improve the cemetery)," City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said.
In 2023, the construction of the Wall of Remembrance was initiated by Sandoval at the Tugatog Public Cemetery to provide families with a place to honor their departed loved ones.
She also implemented free cremation services and received about 2,490 requests from families wishing to have their loved ones' remains cremated.
