The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has urged the public not to hesitate in filing complaints against the latest candidates seeking posts at the Court of Appeals (CA) and the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).
Judicial and Bar Council (MANILA BULLETIN)
“The public may submit a sworn complaint, report, or opposition against any of the aforesaid candidates,” read the notice issued by Supreme Court (SC) Clerk of Court and JBC Ex Officio Secretary Edgar Aricheta.
There are three candidates seeking posts either at the CTA or the CA, namely: Jean Marie Bacorro-Villena, Manuel Sta. Cruz Jr., and Gemma Bucayu-Madrid.
On the other hand, Victoriano Cabanos, Dennis Alcantar, Jacinto Fajardo Jr., Eleuterio Bathan and Vicente Go are seeking posts at the CA.
Those applying for posts at the CTA are Rowena De Juan-Quingoran and Maria Rowena Modesto-San Pedro.
There are four vacant seats at the CA after Justice Jose Reyes Jr. got appointed at the SC and Justices Magdangal De Leon, Renato Francisco and Romulo Borja retired last year.
On the other hand, the CTA has two open spots due to last year’s retirement of Justices Lovell Bautista and Caesar Casanova.
The JBC is scheduled to hold this week interviews of the candidates.
Only Bathan and Go won’t undergo the interviews since their past interviews still remain valid.
