President Rodrigo Duterte has endorsed incumbent Malabon City Vice Mayor Jeannie Sandoval for the mayoralty seat.

"Nangangampanya ako para kay Vice Mayor Jeannie, at sana ay matulungan ko siya at iboto niyo siya (I am campaigning for Vice Mayor Jeannie. I hope I can help her and I hope you vote for her)," Duterte said in a video message shown during Sandoval's proclamation rally.
Sandoval led the proclamation rally of her slate, Team Kakampi, at Barangay Potrero, Malabon City on Tuesday afternoon.
The President said he supports Sandoval because he does not support corrupt politicians.
Duterte also said that he knew Sandoval's husband, Malabon Congressman Federico "Ricky" Sandoval, from his time in Congress.
Should Sandoval win, Duterte said they will build a district hospital with a Malasakit Center in the city.
He also said that they will start a housing project for those affected in a demolition at Letre, Malabon City.
"For those who will lose their homes in the demolition project I have been hearing about, we will build secure shelters built with strong materials," he said.
During her proclamation rally, Sandoval vowed to combat illegal drugs, criminality, and the waste and flood problem in Malabon.
