
A man tagged by the police as the Top 5 most wanted person under the regional level was arrested for statutory rape on Monday, Feb. 3.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as “Elmer,” 44. He was arrested at around 6:30 p.m. in Barangay Marcelo Green, Parañaque City.
The SPD said members of the Parañaque City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) arrested Elmer by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Moises Domingo De Castro of the Parañaque City Family Court, Branch 10, for two counts of Statutory Rape under Article 266-A (1)(D) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by R.A. 8353; and d Violation of Section 5(B) of R.A. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act), further amended by R.A. 11648.
De Castro issued the warrant of arrest on Jan. 17 with no bail recommended due to the severity of the charges against the suspect.
Elmer is now detained at the custodial facility of the Parañaque City Police pending the formal return of the warrant to the issuing court.
