P20-M marijuana, shabu seized in Cordillera in 1 week

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet â€“ Police seized shabu and marijuana valued at P20 million in the Cordillera region from Feb. 24 to March 2.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera said they conducted 17 anti-illegal drug operations where 92,950 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,700 marijuana seedlings, 12.27 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, 10,000 marijuana leaves, and 160.99 grams of suspected shabu worth a total of P20,954,204.40 were confiscated.

Eight suspected drug pushers were arrested â€“ two high-value individuals and six street-level individuals.

The Kalinga Police Provincial Office confiscated illegal drugs valued at P14,519,940 and arrested four drug pushers; Benguet PPO, illegal drugs worth P5,501 and one drug pusher; Baguio City Police Office, shabu valued at P850,000 and one drug pusher; Abra PPO, shabu worth P81,940 and one drug pusher, and Mountain Province PPO, dried marijuana leaves and fruits valued at P872.40 and one drug pusher.
