Teasing leads to bottle assault in Antipolo; helper nabbed
A 20-year-old helper was arrested after allegedly hitting a man with a liquor bottle in Antipolo City on Aug. 30, reportedly after being repeatedly teased.
The Antipolo Component City Police Station said the incident occurred around 9 p.m. at Sitio Tanglaw in Barangay San Isidro while the 22-year-old victim, identified as “Paul,” was drinking with his friends.
Police said the suspect, identified as “Marlon,” arrived and struck the victim on the head with a liquor bottle, allegedly after being repeatedly teased.
They did not provide further details about the alleged teasing.
The suspect was immediately restrained by the victim’s companions, preventing further physical confrontation.
Marlon fled the scene, while the victim was immediately brought to the Antipolo City District Hospital (Mambugan) for medical treatment.
After receiving medical attention, the victim sought assistance from responding Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSOs), who arrested the suspect. The weapon, however, was not recovered.
The suspect is currently detained at the Antipolo CCPS Custodial Facility and may face frustrated homicide charges.
