During his first two days in office, Olazo led the inspection of Police Stations 1 to 16 and border-control areas to assess personnel deployment, disaster preparedness, police visibility, and overall operational capabilities.
The inspection, conducted with QCPD District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) personnel and in coordination with the Quezon City government, focused on determining the actual number and readiness of police personnel on the ground, including their Move, Shoot, Communicate and disaster-response capabilities.
Olazo said the assessment was necessary to ensure that police personnel are physically and operationally prepared to respond promptly to emergencies, disasters, and security incidents.
He also checked the deployment plans of the 16 police stations against their respective crime-clock data to ensure that police visibility and interventions are strategically positioned during identified peak crime hours.
Hourly intervention and monitoring were likewise emphasized to maintain continuous police presence and enable immediate response to emerging incidents.
As part of the Habagat response operations, the disaster readiness and response capabilities of every police station were also assessed, while personnel were deployed to the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) to support response efforts.
Coordination with the Quezon City government and other partner agencies was likewise reinforced to ensure a unified and timely response to emergencies and help prevent casualties and protect lives and property.
Olazo also checked the mobilization efforts of barangays to strengthen community participation in disaster response, crime prevention, and the maintenance of peace and order.
Beyond operational readiness, the QCPD chief assessed the condition of each police station, including its cleanliness, orderliness, security, and overall environment, as well as the condition of persons under police custody (PUPCs).
He also stressed personnel welfare, reminding commanders to manage schedules and enforce the ban on 24‑hour straight duty.
The QCPD stressed that adequate rest is essential to maintaining the alertness, discipline, and effectiveness of police personnel while on duty.
