Police capture gunman minutes after QC shooting

Police arrested a 32‑year‑old man on Sunday, Aug. 30, about 50 minutes after he allegedly shot a man four times while the latter was inside a tricycle on Samar Street in Barangay Alicia, Quezon City.
The suspect, alias “Erd,” 32, of Barangay Santo Cristo, was arrested by Project 6 Police Station (PS 15) personnel at around 7:40 p.m. on Romblon Street in Barangay Santo Cristo.
Police said the victim was inside a tricycle at around 6:50 p.m. when the suspect, armed with a gun, arrived on a motorcycle, got off, and fired four shots at him before fleeing.
The victim suffered gunshot wounds and was brought by bystanders to Metro North Medical Center for medical treatment.
Acting on information received, PS 15 personnel conducted a follow-up operation that led to the suspect’s arrest.
At around 10:30 p.m., QCPD Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) conducted a technical examination of the crime scene and recovered two fired cartridge cases and one fired bullet.
The suspect is set to be charged with frustrated murder before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
The Quezon City Police District, under Police Brigadier General Christopher Olazo, continues to investigate the circumstances and motive behind the shooting.
